Threats to Parks

The primary objective for creating a Protected Area is to preserve the natural heritage features of the landscape and the wildlife that inhabit the area.

Allowing high impact recreation and development contradicts the purpose for which the park was established.



Ontario's Parks and Reserves are threatened by:

Mining
Sport Hunting
Snowmobiling/ATV Use and Access
Roads
Mine site in Mellon Lake Reserve

Allowing mining, hunting, roads and snowmobiles in Ontario's Parks and Reserves is a blatant contradiction to every goal of conservation.
